Enel Green Power and Centelsa by Nexans have delivered the first comunal Ecohall for the enjoyment of the Cesar community
Jun 21, 2023- The delivery of the first Ecosalón in the El Potrerillo district will benefit more than 2,500 inhabitants by promoting spaces for the training and recovery of the community's historical and cultural memory.
- The four-month construction of this space saw more than 230 million pesos invested and 66 wooden reels and 700 pallets from the La Loma solar park were re-used.
Cesar, June 21, 2023. Within the development framework of the La Loma solar park, Enel Green Power, the business line of Enel Colombia1, and Centelsa by Nexans, the wiring solution company for the entire electrification chain, delivered an Ecohall for the community of the El Potrerillo district, in Cesar. This space seeks to promote the integration and coexistence of the community, as well as generating spaces for the formation and recovery of its historical and cultural memory. The initiative received an investment of more than $230 million pesos, where both companies promoted the labor inclusion of six people from the community during its four-month development.
To build the walls, windows, and floors of the Ecosalón and its offices, the recycled wood came from 66 reels and 700 pallets in which Centelsa by Nexans low and medium voltage cables were transported to the La Loma solar park. Furthermore, 64 wheels from metal rope cylinders were incorporated into the project. As such, 67.7m3 of wood, equivalent to 285 pine trees, and 12,641 metal nails were not improperly disposed of as waste, thereby preventing the emission of approximately 12 tons of CO2.
In addition to its attractive design, sustainable conditions that facilitate the infrastructure maintenance were taken into account, and in the coming months training will be carried out with the community to promote its proper use and care.
This new community hall became a reality thanks to the efforts of both companies and the support of other strategic allies such as Bucarretes and Soltec. Their priority is to benefit the interest groups of the area of direct influence of the La Loma solar park, which will have 400,000 solar panels. Once operational, the total installed capacity will be 187 MWdc, generating 420 GWh of renewable energy per year, thus being capable of meeting the needs of approximately 600,000 people.
