Sustainable transportation, one of Nexans' bets for the Energy Transition in Colombia
Aug 2, 2022Patio Taller Perdomo Project
Bogota, July 2022. The French multinational Nexans, recognized for its participation in large renewable energy projects worldwide, has as a priority the promotion of the energy transition and as a commitment to contribute to carbon neutrality by 2030.
In 2022, it has become part of the sustainable transportation of Bogotá, in alliance with Unión Temporal Celsia - PC Mejía Patio Perdomo, a design, construction, and maintenance company of electrical networks, which is in charge of the electrical system of the Patio Taller Perdomo project, an electric charging service station.
Patio Taller Perdomo will be located in Ciudad Bolívar, and will have 21 charging stations and 93 dispensers that will allow the simultaneous recharging of batteries of 183 buses.
Patio Taller Perdomo, Bogotá will have five 100% electric service stations, four of them located in Suba, Usme and Fontibón.
“ We are convinced that the road to energy transition must also start with sustainable transportation, that is why we are committed to being part of this important project, which contributes to electric mobility in Colombia. ”

“ Our electric charging system also has a sequential or parallel charging plus, in this way, a bus takes an average of 2 hours to recharge, which will allow it to travel more than 260 kilometers per day, and will optimize travel times. The project is currently in the execution phase (92%) and the estimated delivery date is July 2022 ”
Jimmy Alejandro Gomez Malagón
Electrical Engineer of Unión Temporal Celsia - PC Mejía Patio Perdomo. With Patio Taller Perdomo project, Bogotá will have five 100% electric service stations, four of them located in the Suba, Usme and Fontibón districts.
In this project, Unión Temporal Celsia - PC Mejía Patio Perdomo had the opportunity to implement the Nexans Mobiway Un'Reel solution, a patented wooden reel with a built-in reeling system, which offers 360° degree maneuverability and facilitates the unwinding of cables on large reels (weighing up to 600 kg), avoiding the use of machinery, tools, and additional personnel.
“ This technology facilitates the uncoiling and deployment of the cable, allowing us to save time for the execution of the work. Despite its size, it can be operated by one person and make 360 degree movements; in the past we needed up to 6 people to uncoil the cable. ”
Javier Edison Pinzón
Technical Supervisor of Patio Taller Perdomo Project.“ The energy transition is a reality that is driving the entire electricity sector to develop innovative and sustainable solutions that are transversal to the entire electrification value chain. For this reason, Nexans will continue to contribute its knowledge in this type of projects, a great bet that is in line with our mission of Andean Region: Inspire and enrich the experience of our customers, developing innovative services and solutions that contribute to sustainable electrification of the future, improving the quality of life of our society. ”
