Description

Description

Standards

  • National
    ASTM B 496; ASTM B 8; ICEA S-93-639; UL 1072

Application

MV monopolar cables are used in medium voltage electrical energy distribution networks, as feeders for transformers in substations, industrial facilities and urbanizations. They are suitable for installations in dry or wet locations, outdoors and in underground ducts.

Construction

1. Conductor: Compacted soft copper, class B.

2. Internal semi-conductor: Extruded compound.

3. Insulation: Cross-linked polyethylene XLPE.

(Optional): XLPE-TR (Tree retardant).

4. External semi-conductor: Peelable extruded compound.

These last three components extruded in CV (continuous vulcanization) of tripleextrusion in the dry curing process.

5. Screen: Copper Tape.

6. Outer cover: Anti-flame PVC compound.

Applicable Standards

ICEA S-93-639, NTC 2186-2, NEMA WC 74.

Certificate

RETIE  N° 00412

Operating Temperature

90°C.

Operating Voltage

15 kV.

Packaging

On non-returnable wooden drums.

Color

Insulation: Natural.

Outer cover: Black.

Ampacity and Reactance Conditions

  • Ampacities of Insulated Single Copper Conductor Isolated in Air Based on Conductor Temperatures of 90°C and Ambient Air Temperature of 40°C. According to NEC, Table 310.60(C)(69).
  • Ampacities of Three Single-Insulated Copper Conductors in Underground Electrical Ducts (Three Conductors per Electrical Duct) Based on Ambient Earth Temperature of 20°C, 100% Load Factor, Thermal Resistance (RHO) of 90, Conductor Temperatures of 90°C. According to NEC, Table 310.60(C)(77).
  • Reactance Inductive to 90°C, 60Hz, 3 conductors spaced 1 diameter. Trifoil and flat configuration.

NOTE:

  • The data reported here are nominal and are subject to tolerances according to standards and normal manufacturing practices.
  • Other configurations not specified in this catalog may be available under special request and minimum manufacturing quantitie.
