Application

CENTELSA by Nexans VFD Cables are specially engineered to provide 100% containment of EMI emissions and provide longer cable life in harsh operating conditions. Are part of a power control system, which mixes the electrical control of industrial machines with electronic automated systems where the main device is a variable frequency drive (VFD), which for industry is basically a variable speed control of electric motors.

These VFD cables feature symmetrical ground conductors that reduce induced voltage imbalances and carry common mode noise back to the drive.

Construction

Phase and ground conductors

Composed of flexible soft copper conductors.

Phase and ground Insulation

Thermosetting compound in cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE), flame retardant (FR), resistant to abrasion, heat and humidity. Compound free of hazardous substances (RoHS).

Conformation

Three insulated phase conductors plus three insulated ground conductors are symmetrically placed between the phase gaps in order to reduce induced voltage imbalances and transport common mode noise back to the drive.

Inner Jacket

Application of jacket over assembly in order to give circularity to the cable.

Shielding

Bare copper tape applied helically with an overlap in order to guarantee 100% coverage.

Overall Jacket

External cover with thermoplastic compound in polyvinyl chloride (PVC), flame retardant, resistant to abrasion, moisture, for use in trays (TC), sunlight resistant (SR). Compound free of hazardous substances (RoHS).
